When: Thursday, September 21, 10:30-1:30. Deadline for registration or for
cancellation with refund (less $1.50 FitC Refund Fee): Monday, September 11, 2023.
Where: Bartram's Garden, 5400 Lindbergh Blvd., then Renata’sKitchen BYOB, 3940 Baltimore Avenue.
Who: 10 FitC members. Please do not attend without pre- registering and pre-paying.
Accessibility: You will need to walk between the trolley stop and the Garden, about .2-mile each way. Many of the trails at Bartram's Garden are not paved, and there are some uphill/ downhill spots, although you can adjust the direction and speed of your walk to your abilities.
What: Rain or shine, stroll around Bartram's Garden + enjoy brunch on the patio (weather permitting) at Renata's Kitchen!
Bartram's Garden currently has no tours, but this is a delightful place for gentle strolls, nature appreciation, and deep breathing!Join us for an informal, unguided stroll through the grounds before "trolleying" back to the 40th Street Portal for a delicious brunch at Renata's Kitchen https://www.renatas-kitchen.com/ , where you can replace all the calories you have burned while strolling!
Charge: $6 ($5 deposit + $1 FitC fee) --you will receive your $5 deposit back on the day of the event, to apply to your brunch tab.
How to travel to Bartram's Garden by public transportation & parking: There is a parking lot at Bartram's Garden. Parking can be tricky at 40th and Baltimore. Public transportation is more convenient.
A) Take the #36 Trolley (Green Line) west to 54th Street. Once you exit the trolley, follow these directions from the website: "Upon turning into the entrance, come down our long driveway, known as Harley Drive, past the entrance to Bartram Village on your right. Continue down Harley Drive to reach the Welcome Center, bike racks, and visitor parking. Our administrative offices are also located along Harley Drive."
Meet in front of the mansion, on the side of the mansion closest to Lindbergh Blvd. at 10:30 a.m.
B) To travel to Renata's: From Bartram's Garden, take the #36 Trolley east to the 40th Street portal. Renata's Kitchen is located at the portal.
