FitC members are invited to join a series of delicious meetings at city brunch spots. The purpose of these meetings is socializing: To get acquainted with new FitC members and to enjoy seeing your old FitC friends regularly. These brunch spots are located all over the city, so that we can visit or revisit a wide variety of neighborhoods.
(Quoting from their website) “In 2003, Michael and Jeniphur Pasquarello opened Café Lift, housed in an historic, refurbished factory along 13th Street in Philadelphia’s Callowhill neighborhood. Many years later, they are still serving brunch to the crowds, seven days a week from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. The menu evolves seasonally, and all ingredients are sourced from responsible growers, and hyper-locally whenever possible. Café Lift proudly serves quality coffee drinks in collaboration with a local roaster.” The warm and intimate space has also recently added cocktails to its formerly BYOB menu.

Event Cost: $16 total ($15 of that will be returned for you to put toward your bill + $1 FitC fee). Deadline for registering and paying, canceling with refund, or receiving your check, if you don’t pay online: April 9, 2026.
We may not be able to get separate checks, so please bring cash in small bills to supplement your $15 when paying your bill. It is not possible to make reservations at this restaurant, so please bring your patience and flexibility, since this is a very popular spot.
Accessibility: This cafe is wheelchair and walker accessible.
Parking/Transportation: Café Lift is located at 1124 Spring Garden Street (on the corner of 12th/Ridge and Spring Garden). Street parking can be somewhat challenging to find near this establishment. Public transportation is a good option.
a) Take the Broad Street Line (B-1) north to Spring Garden. Then walk five minutes east to the corner of 12th/Ridge and Spring Garden. (Or, when you exit the Broad Street Line, take Bus #43 from Broad and Spring Garden east to 12th.)
b) Take Bus #2 from 16th and JFK north to 16th and Spring Garden; transfer to Bus #43, and take it east to 12th and Spring Garden.
