Want to write a chapter of your memoir? Draft an op-ed? Improve a manuscript you started eons ago? Attend this workshop and learn to polish your own prose. Each week, members will bring 10 copies of a manuscript: Up to 750 words, typed double spaced in Times New Roman 12. Each week we will read and gently critique every manuscript. First someone else will read your piece aloud, so you can hear how a stranger receives it. Then we will offer kind, gentle suggestions about readability, comprehension, and so on.
Since 1988, the leader, FitC member Susie Perloff, a widely published nonfiction writer, has taught adults to write nonfiction. And that’s the truth.
WHEN: Eight Thursdays, May 23 through July 18 (no class on July 4), 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. – although the leader is willing to stay later.
WHERE: Confidential location near Broad and Locust. The exact location will be sent with your confirmation email.
WHY: Because you want to, not because you have to.
This group is limited to 8 participants. There is no charge, although registrants should be committed to writing and attending. Open to FitC members only.
Questions: contact Susie Perloff or Bobbi at FitC.
