If you received a directive to evacuate immediately, would you be prepared? If you were directed tonight to shelter in place, would you be prepared?

The Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management wants us to be prepared for any kind of emergency - because emergencies do happen. You probably know that for the City of Philadelphia, flooding is the number one natural hazard that we face. Fewer than half of households have preparedness plans for hazardous flooding. Many of us don’t have up-to-date plans for fire, snow, smoke, loss of electricity, or other sudden and dangerous situations that can happen requiring immediate action or planning.

At this one-hour program, participants will receive easy-to-follow tips on how to come up with an emergency plan that works for you. For example, you will get ideas on how to plan for a “GO Bag” and for a “Shelter in Place Kit.”  Plan ideas will involve everyone in the family including members with disabilities and even your cat or dog.

A quick response in an emergency can be a lifesaver.
