Join us for a visit to the Robert and Penny Fox Historic Costume Collection at Drexel University! Drexel has been collecting textiles and examples of traditional dress since it was first suggested in 1898 by Howard Pyle, who was then Director of the School of Illustration, “as a help to historic and artistic study” for the dressmaking and millinery students. It currently cares for roughly 14,000 objects of dress, accessories, and objects relating to fashion, and is a center for costume-related research and scholarship. Curator Clair Sauro will guide us on a tour of both the storage facility and the gallery.
Afterwards, you can opt to join us for lunch at Landmark Americana, 3333 Market Street.
