This is the first in a series of happy hour meetings at local bars around Philadelphia. The goals of these meetings are not only to meet new FitC members and to reconnect with old FitC friends, but also to explore establishments in parts of the city that you may not visit frequently. We hope to enjoy happy hours in South Philadelphia, Old City, SW Center City, Fairmount, Spring Garden, Northern Liberties, University City, and in many other parts of the city.
Included on several lists of “best happy hours in the city,” Sidecar Bar & Grille is located in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood. Describing their bar as a “place for neighbors,” they write on their website, “We ’ve been hanging out in Graduate Hospital on the corner of 22nd and Christian for more than 10 years. We offer dozens of craft beers, plenty of good food and a friendly atmosphere that warms the soul…..” They offer an extensive happy hour menu, including $10 beer and burger/buffalo chicken or fish sandwich, along with mussels, salads, fries, and, of course, discounted drinks.
Event Limit: 10 FitC members
Event Cost: $16 ($15 “deposit” that you will receive back on the day of the happy hour + $1 FitC fee). Deadline for canceling with a refund (less $2 FitC Refund fee) is August 29.
Separate checks are not guaranteed (though we may be able to negotiate the day of the visit), so please bring cash to add to your $15, to settle your tab.
Accessibility: We will be on the second floor, where there are larger tables, and there are some stairs to climb.
Transportation/Parking: Two-hour street parking is available on Christian St. and on nearby side streets. Public transportation is also a good option.
