December is a cold time for outside tours...so let's try inside in Philadelphia's center, City Hall, the largest city building in the U.S.

The guide who led the Rittenhouse Square history tour, Karen Sutton, will lead us on this one. We'll meet at the John Wanamaker sculpture on the east side of City Hall and proceed immediately inside to the Mayor's Reception Room* on the 2nd floor...using the lovely staircase or elevators.

Then on to another room, discussing what we see and the history of Conversation Hall, then up to the 4th floor for the Caucus Room and Council Chambers. Still have energy levels? we'll do some more exploring.

Learn the story of Philadelphia during our Centennial and why we have a French castle in the center of our city.

Karen is a Certified Tour Guide in Philadelphia and does tours for the Independence Visitor Center at City Hall.

For 10 FitC members; if it's full, join the wait list and we'll schedule another.

Attendees must be vaccinated and wear masks.

Cost: $17.

*There is a chance, of course, if something major and newsworthy happens that our Mayor will want to use his reception room.
