Guests and Non-FitC members welcome. But they must be registered separately for an additional $15 charge.

Come along with FitC to meet 13 delightful goats!  Goats are smart, funny, eager to learn and magical...they make amazing therapy animals and have the added bonus of being sustainable. Each goat has a distinct personality and relationship within their herd and with the humans around them.  Get to know these amazing animals and enjoy the quiet oasis of the Awbury Arboretum.

The Philly Goat Project (PGP)  is a non-profit located at the Farm at Awbury Arboretum, an historic outdoor space that is free and open to the public. PGP provides a variety of activities in partnership with their dynamic goats, from animal-assisted therapy and stress reduction events to a teen internship program and visits to local libraries to promote literacy. Click here to learn more about their work.

At this event, FitC members can learn more about this unique organization, meet the goats, and help take them for a walk around the grounds of Awbury.

You'll also be able to see the Storybook Walk and Grief Garden plus exotic chickens, Weaver's Way Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) gardens, bee hives maintained by the Beekeeper's Guild, community gardens, as well as dye, medicinal, and pollinator gardens.

If desired, participants can explore the Farm and Arboretum at their leisure in lieu of the goat walk or after the event concludes.

Bring a picnic and make a day of it; there is much to explore!
