Learn to Make Mousse Au Chocolate

Chocolate mousse is thick, rich, creamy, and a perfect dessert for entertaining! Not only is it pretty, everyone gets their own serving, and you can make it a day ahead of time.

But how can you make it yourself? FitC member (and noted cook) Michele Haines will teach you.

Start with light bites (pâtes and cheese), and then with wine, coffee, or tea, enjoy the mousse after it's completed. 

Date: Wednesday, October 29.  12 noon - 2:00pm

Cost:  $85 plus FitC processing fee $1 (no refunds for if you cancel*) for FitC members.

For non-FitC members: $90 plus FitC processing fee $1 (no refunds for attender's cancellation*)

Size:  Limited to 6 participants, FitC members only.  *Class will be canceled if fewer than 6 sign up. 

I was born into a family who loved food and wine. Many of my relatives were chefs, pastry chefs, bartenders, owners of vineyards. Although my beginnings in adult life did not reflect these talents, I was and still am occasionally an interpreter at the U.N., I created the Anthropology and Spanish departments at Germantown Friends, and I give lectures occasionally on Pushkin.

But my love in life is food and wine, because through food and wine, I meet many people from all corners of life, learn a lot about different cultures, and it makes me a better person.

In my life, I have done many things: 

• As a chef I had worked with Les Dames d'Escoffier
  
• I have worked with the International Cheese Forum in Bra, Italy;
  
• as a chef in Nizhny Novgorod, Siberia; 
  
• worked on Russian television;
  
• been a guest at the Slow Food Convivial in St. Petersburg, Russia;
  
• been a guest chef at a monastery in the Philippines
  
• been a guest chef at the American Consulate in Melbourne, Australia
  
• and of course I was the chef/owner at the Spring Mill Cafe in Conshohocken, where my son has taken over
