Please meet up with your fellow FitC members for chats, drinks and food at Sunset Social at Cira Green. Meet new FitC members, reconnect with FitC acquaintances, and share your summer plans and adventures. Admire the gorgeous views of the city from this pleasant rooftop garden. Look for your fellow senior citizens (gray hair and smiles). This is a small space, so it will be easy to find us!
It is not possible to set up a tab at this bar; you pay as you go for drinks and food. There are some excellent $10 deals for burgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches, as well as a nice draft list, cocktails, and other beverages. We will meet at 4:00 at tables in the tent.
Event Limit: 12 FitC members
Event Cost: There is no registration fee (each person will cover his/her own bill) but we need to know the number of people participating, so that we can save enough seats, please register by the deadline, July 7th.
Accessability: The walk up to the rooftop garden on the ramp is a tiny bit steep, and may not be appropriate for people who struggle to walk uphill.
Sunset Social can also be accessed without a ramp. There is a smaller elevator (with glass back wall) on the south (Walnut Street) side of the building. Enter Cira Green by the coffee shop at the corner of 30th and Walnut (where there is outdoor seating) or into the lobby at the corner of 29th and Walnut. Go to the walkway leading toward the north side of the building. The elevator there is closer to the east (river) side of the building (near 29th). Take it to the top floor, and then you are directly at the Cira Green (Sunset Social) level, with no ramp.
Transportation/Directions:
a) Take the #21 bus to Walnut and 30th and walk north on 30th to Chestnut
b) Take any trolley or the El (L1) to 30th Street, then walk south on 30th to Chestnut
This is NOT the tall Cira Center building north of the train station.Enter the building under the Cira Green sign (just south of Chestnut, east side of 30th), where you will enter a parking garage. Take the elevator to the left up to the 11th floor. When you exit the elevator, go left and then walk up the ramp around the corner.
