Because the beer garden was closed when we visited recently (and we
had to move for a delightful visit to Tir Na Nog across the street), we are
scheduling an “encore” visit. Please meet up with your fellow FitC
members for chats, drinks and food at the Broad Street Brewing Beer
Garden at Love Park. This beer garden recently opened at the famous
“flying saucer” that was the old Philadelphia Visitors’ Center. Meet new
FitC members, reconnect with FitC acquaintances, and share your
summer adventures.
We will meet at 5:00. Look for your fellow senior citizens (gray hair and
smiles). This is a relatively small space, so it will be easy to find us!
Event Limit: 12 FitC members; members only.
Event Cost: There is no registration fee (each person will cover his/her own bill). Please register by the deadline, September 7. You MUST
register yourself for this event, so that we can reserve chairs for attendees;
please don’t just show up.
Accessibility: The beer garden is wheelchair and walker accessible.
Directions: This beer garden is a short walk west from City Hall, in Love Park (between JFK Blvd. and Arch Street and between 15th and 16 Streets). Look for the flying saucer building; the beer garden is beside it.
Note: There are sun umbrellas, so this could be a light rain or shine event,
although with heavy rain, it will not be pleasant. Cheri will notify you, if we
need to cancel.
If you register, and then must cancel, please be considerate and notify Cheri Micheau (phoebejack1@verizon.net)---not Heather Speirs or Bobbi Cohen.
Thanks to FitC Volunteer Cheri Micheau for organizing this event.
