Humble Parlor describes itself as a “nano brewery” with a cozy, friendly taproom (a mini-“Cheers” bar) with a limited number of delicious beers. At one time, visitors needed a secret code to enter, but hooray, that is no longer necessary. The owners mention on their website, “We have a variety of house-made beers, guest beers, guest cider, canned cocktails, and hard seltzers. Our 1/2bbl system provides us with a lot of new beers with a focus on IPAs, Lagers, and stouts. We sprinkle in the occasional Belgian and sour when we crave it.”
This brewery doesn’t offer food, but there are many restaurants nearby, and you can bring in food, as well. The manager suggested some pizza options: Circles and Squares or The OG; Tommy’s pizza is also close by. Primo’s Hoagies shop is not far away from Humble Parlor. There are also great restaurants nearby, if you wanted to have dinner after the tasting!
Event Limit: 16 FitC Members
Event Cost: $17 per person ($16 for a flight of four 4-oz. pours + tax and tip + $1 FitC fee). Additional beers or other beverages are on your own tab. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT BEFORE THE DEADLINE, SINCE SPACE IS LIMITED. Accessibility: This brewery is not wheelchair and walker accessible. If the weather is nice, we will sit out in the back garden. This garden is not paved, and the surface is uneven. Steps lead out to the garden, as well, so not walker or wheelchair friendly.
Directions/Transportation: The brewery is located at 530 E. Girard Avenue. Parking is available on the street, but not always easy to find. Public transportation is also a good option.
a) Take the Market-Frankford Line (the El) to the Girard Avenue stop. Walk 80 feet west to Girard & Front Streets, and jump on the #15 Trolley eastbound. Exit at Girard & Palmer Streets. Walk 360 feet to the brewery at 530 E. Girard Avenue.
b) Take the Market-Frankford Line (the El) to the Girard Avenue stop. Walk .5 mile northeast to 530 E. Girard Avenue.
