A treat for 18 people will be a docented tour of the stately 18thcentury home of the Biddle family from 1790 to 1973, set in 50 acres of lovely gardens which include a grotto and outbuildings on a bluff overlooking the Delaware River in Lower Bucks County. The home is elegantly furnished as it was in the early 19th century, subject to equally elegant modernizations like marble bathrooms.

Our bus will depart from in front of the Dorchester (224 W. Rittenhouse Square) promptly at 10:00am and leave Andalusia at 1:00pm.  Members will tour the house from 11:00am to 12:00noon, after which time members are invited to enjoy a brown bag lunch or snack they have brought and/or explore the gardens.

Event Cost:  $73 (including bus and fee for tour of house). Refunds available until April 2nd (less $1.50 FitC Refund Charge). Cancellation notices should go to info@friendscentercity.org

Accessibility: Sturdy, flat footwear is strongly recommended for visitors. There are uneven floors and stairs in the house and some unmade paths in the Gardens. The house is not wheel-chair accessible. Tours involve walking, standing, and using stairs.

Thanks to FitC Volunteer Tom Bowen for organizing this project.
